The Cheddar Car Boot is a good way of emptying your loft or garage and raising some cash.

 

You can sell almost anything at a boot sale - furniture, second-hand clothes,

electrical equipment, toys, books, and much more besides.

THE SELLING OF LIVESTOCK IS NOT PERMITTED

 It is  illegal to sell Air Rifles, Air Pistols, or any other Replica Firearms, Swords or Combat Knives,

For the safety of all and to make sure the law of the land is adhered to,

there will be regular Security checks

 

Price up your goods beforehand. It means more selling time.

 

Take plenty of change. Keep it in a purse belt for safety. Avoid accepting cheque's .

 

Don't be surprised if dealers start to rummage in your boot while you're unpacking - it can be disconcerting but it's also a good way to "break the ice".

Haggling... This is part of a car boot sale, so expect to lower your prices

 

Try to take a table to display goods, but these can be hired. A folding chair for comfort.

A drink and snack if you are on your own, however there is a cafe' and a refreshment hut on site.

Take bags for the buyers purchases.      Wear suitable clothes
